What is GREEN PEEL® - Herbal Deep Peeling treatment? How does it work?
The Herbal Deep-Peeling is a medically developed skin regeneration with only pure natural plant ingredients, which has been worldwide recognized and proven as a highly safe and successful method of non-surgical procedure.

The Herbal Peel consists of purely natural occurring substances which have no toxic side effects. These include Aloe Vera, Algae, Lungwort, Pansy, Horsetail, Marigold, Ribwort, and Chamomile. Green Peel is also rich in vitamins, phyto-hormones, salicylic acid, proteins, mineral salts and trace elements such as magnesium, potassium, calcium, iron, zinc, copper and selenium.

It increases the blood circulation of the skin and causes the upper layers of the skin to peel off. The simulated blood circulation intensifies metabolism and induces the regeneration of the skin by production of new cells and collagen fibres.

How can the skin peel when no chemical substances are used?
The specific compound of GREEN PEEL® is massaged into your skin at the Spa. The herbs' own micro particles lightly polish the upper layers of skin (epidermis removal), other active ingredients in the herbal preparation will penetrate the skin where they will be absorbed by the cutis within 48 hours. They'll release valuable, natural active substances such as vitamins, plant hormones, enzymes and other beneficial ingredients into the skin.

How does the skin look after the treatment?
After the treatment the skin is red and a burning sensation similar to mild sunburn will be experienced. Three to four days later the old skin comes off. Until then you can work normally and should not need to take time off.

On the 4th or 5th day a follow up treatment takes place. The esthetician will, if necessary, massage away any old skin and use a rich active preparation on the new skin which is now very absorbent. There is no redness in the new skin, the complexion is considerably improved, fresh, clear and younger.

The SUPER BEAUTY TREATMENT is highly recommended. It is a special treatment using intensive active ingredients to tighten the skin, especially for those skins that need special care and it is unique to the Herbal Deep Peeling Treatment.

PLEASE NOTE:
In order to be in a position to advise our clients as to how the Green Peel experience will feel, several members of management and staff of The Spa on Main underwent the Green Peel Treatment.

Please be aware that the Green Peel Treatment is not a "relaxing" treatment. It is fully intended to provide results and in doing so, you will experience some discomfort, the intensity of which will depend on a number of factors, including sensitivity of your skin and personal discomfort threshold level.

As the strength of the peel is determined by the pressure and duration of the special massage, the more discomfort, the better the result. The members of staff who have undergone the Green Peel were pleased with their results, but all agree that there was discomfort during the treatment and for approximately 24 hours after the treatment. Thereafter, the discomfort abated and the results of the peel became evident. Improvement was experienced for up to 28 days after the treatment.

After care treatment:
It is necessary to use sun-protection and to abstain from intensive sunbathing for 4 weeks after the treatment. You must use the specialized homecare products from Dr. Schrammek's skincare range should be used for at least seven days after treatment. After seven days, you may wish to return to your own usual skin care regimen. You must not apply water to your face until you return to the Spa for the final finishing mask.

Specialized products are used after the treatment because during the peeling process the skin is very tender and delicate and needs special care. The specialized products are composed to harmonize with the Green Peel treatment. Without the use of these specialized products the peeling process could be suppressed.

The results of the Green Peel herbal peeling are to some extent dependent on the individual regenerating ability of the skin.

To help increase the success of the peeling treatment it is recommended you support the skin's functions from within. You should follow a healthy diet with lots of vegetables, fruits and juices, 2-3 cups of herbal tea a day, sufficient fresh-air activities and reduce the consumption of cigarettes and other "negative delights".

Contraindications:
It is essential to carry out an in-depth consultation before almost all treatments.

We cannot treat bacterial, fungal, viral and purulent infections, dermatitis, allergic or very sensitive skin, thin skin with telangiectasia and certain forms of rosacea, skin alterations or lesions.

Customers taking the following medication can not have a Green Peel:

• Cortisone

• Cytostatics (cancer medication)

• Isotretinoin e.g. Roacutan, a medicine for the treatment of acne

• Antibiotics

• Antidepressants containing St. John's wort. 4 weeks after coming off the medication the peeling treatment can be carried out

• Chlopromazin (rarely prescribed tranquilliser). 2 weeks after coming off the medication the peeling treatment can be carried out

In addition:

• After laser or dermabrasion treatments you should wait at least 6 months before carrying out a peeling treatment

• Customers who have had other peeing treatments should wait at least 4 months before carrying out a Green Peel

• In the case of collagen or hyaluronic acid treatments, Green Peel can be performed 4-6 weeks after the injections

Summary & Price:
This natural deep herbal peel, exfoliates the first three layers of the epidermis as well as stimulating blood circulation around the treated area. You will start to see the results after 5 days, but the treatment continues to work deeper into the skins subcutaneous layer for a further 16 days. The results are simply outstanding. Further more you need not lose working time during the treatment.
